Have you ever faced criticism or threats from the characters in your parodies?

Fortunately, this has never happened. It happens, and even often, that people call us all sorts of names in the comments. Parody is a sign of popularity and the highest form of flattery. That's what they say. But I think what stops people is that they understand that if you make a scene, it will be worse for you as a result.

I don't know if you're familiar with our new reality - our government has recently taken a serious approach to the Internet, and now there are laws that allow popular sites to be closed, including for unpleasant jokes. What should the relationship between the government and the Internet be?

I believe that the secret always becomes clear. In my country, a thousand people can say a thousand different things at the same time, but if you want, you can always get to the truth. I think openness is the main thing. For example, I was in China. And it seemed to me that people there have no idea what is happening in the rest of the world. And in my opinion, it is unfair to treat people like that. So I think you have to be open, and the truth will prevail. Of course, this way you can even lead to a us companies board of directors email database revolution…

Can you name some things that came to YouTube from Russia?

Oh, I was very impressed.meteorite video. And how many people were able to film it, because you all have these things, cameras in your cars? And by the way, there was a big educational effect - many of us learned for the first time why you have these video recorders. These are the kind of stories that are interesting to everyone. We need to watch it again!

Last question: Do you feel like you're part of a community of vloggers or YouTube comedians? Do you have friends or rivals? Is it like a normal artistic environment, or is it different online?

We live in New York, so we are a little isolated from others. Although we have some cool guys, likeCharlie Toddfrom Improv Everywhere. But we're more old school — maybe because we're older. We're more Saturday Night Live-oriented — we make short videos, parody songs.

So for you the Internet is just a new way of distribution?

Yeah, I think so. And anyway, our people, our colleagues, the ones we went to school with, these are the guys who work in TV, they write for Conan O'Brien. So we hang out with old, grumpy comedians. But there's not much time to hang out, there's so much work every day.
