Writing a blog in a style that appeals to readers is no easy task. There are little tricks you can apply to become a better writer.

Obviously I don't like making these mistakes and daily practice combined with feedback from some readers helps me keep improving. Writing well is not only about not making writing mistakes. Over the last 7 years as a blogger I have learned a few things that do not depend on the language in which you write.

1. Tell a story at the beginning : When you write a post, it is key to hook the visitor to avoid them running away as fast as they arrived. If you can, share your own story. Although it may not seem like it at times, people are interested in the lives of others. We want to learn from their mistakes and live the experiences “together” with them. If you write in a blog format, you can’t help but share a part of your own life as well.

2. Write like you talk: I'm not saying that you should use the "bad words" you use when talking to friends. Don't try to create complicated sentences that make you seem smarter. In most cases, the exact opposite happens. People will think you're an idiot because you make them feel arrogant and haughty. I'm not saying that such a strategy can't work in some cases. For most of us, failure is certain. Make reading as comfortable and easy as possible to have a positive impact on the reade.
