As a freelancer, you can win over like-minded clients with your authentic voice—showing what it’s like to work with you before the first meeting is a win-win for both parties.

Always write your “About” section in the first person. In contrast, third person can feel cold and distant.

Even if you’ve never posted on LinkedIn, optimizing your profile will help more clients find you. Let’s start with your name and go through the LinkedIn profile checklist.

1. Customize your profile URL.
