Method 2: Add friends using the search function

Apart from this, you can also search for users by their names. Here's how to do it on mobile and PC.
On PC
Step 1: In the Steam app or website, find your username in the dialog box and press Enter.
Find the user and click the search button.
Step 2: Once you find the user, click “Add as friend”.
Click "Add as friend".

In the mobile application
Step 1: Enter your friend's profile name and click the search button.
Step 2: Click the "Add as friend" button next to the profile.
Find and then click the search button. Click "Add as friend".
