“Your time is money.” Ok, yes, that’s great. But how much is it really worth? The question of whether or not we should outsource certain tasks to a freelancer cannot always be decided with the help of a simple 4-field matrix.

Such a broad question about whether outsourcing certain tasks is a good or bad idea can only be answered by looking at specific cases. For a couple of days now I have been researching the issue of whether japanese number phone or not to outsource the creation of an e-book for my new blog maratoniano.es. This is perhaps a rather special case because I am in a competitive situation where I am limited to a budget of 1,000 euros. I am competing against my rival Alex Navarro who is setting up a hosting project. To start with, there are different possible ways to outsource an e-book .
Types of e-book outsourcing to a freelancer
When we hire a service or buy a product, there is a very simple rule. I want to pay the minimum and get the most. Our supplier applies the opposite logic. He wants to charge the maximum with the least effort possible. As in most cases in life, we have to meet in the middle of the road where both are satisfied and can live.
Full service from 0 to 100 : this type of contract could be called a complete outsourcing from scratch that includes the writing of the content, the design and the generation of the different e-book formats (PDF, ePub, mobi). In the ideal case, an initial briefing is sufficient to receive the complete work after the agreed time.
Partial content-focused outsourcing : To reduce costs, we can decide to do part of the work ourselves. You may be good at designing (or at least achieve a decent result) and you are happy to receive the content in Word format. You still have to invest 1-2 hours to get everything ready, but it may be worth it if you can save 20-30% of the budget for a full service. Content generation would still be in the hands of your provider.
Outsourcing editing of your own content : To further reduce the costs of an e-book , you could limit yourself to editing the texts. If you already have a blog, you could provide an index linking to the different posts on your blog. The editor's job would be to link the different articles together to ensure a fluid reading between the different articles. You could take advantage of work already done and also minimize the costs of creating the e-book .
