Official title , work accreditation, activity, employment, professional family, qualification, competencies, capacities, training modules, in-person training, online training... All this terminology is part of the world of professional certificates , aimed at providing work accreditation to both professionals in different areas who do not have an official title that accredits them as such, as well as those who want to work in them and do not possess the required theoretical and practical knowledge: they are, in short, an excellent job opportunity for the unemployed and active workers.
These essential training allies, in addition to generating employability among the students they are targeting, have an important mission: that they "learn to be", that they acquire the knowledge and skills at the end of the training, to be prepared and efficient professionals in the labor market, capable of successfully carrying out a certain job and that they have all the necessary skills required for those positions.
A Professional Certificate is a document that accredits a worker in a professional qualification of the National Catalogue of professional competence standards (almost all the professions that you can develop in Spain are included in this catalogue). These Certificates certify that you are qualified for the development of a work activity with significance for employment, that is, an occupation, and ensure the necessary training for it. They are official titles issued by the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training and represent a Grade C Title in the new regulation established by the new Organic Law 3/2022, of March 31, on the regulation and integration of Vocational Training .
Structure of a Professional Certificate:
Competence Units (CU): Professional certificates, previously called "professional certificates" correspond to the occupations in the National Catalogue of Professional Competence Standards, therefore, their theoretical and practical content prepares you to master the tasks of that job. These tasks are called Competence Units.
Training Modules (MF): Each professional certificate is subdivided into training modules (this is how the content is organised) and usually has between 3 and 6 modules, which you can take separately and which include a mandatory non-work placement module in companies.
Training Units (TU): Each module is further subdivided into training units, which you can also take separately, but in most certificates you have to take them in a specific order.

How are they obtained?
There are currently 2 ways:
Through work experience: If you have been working in the same sector for several years and your position meets one of the qualifications in the National Catalogue, you can obtain your certificate directly by justifying your experience and completing an administrative procedure that can be requested at vocational training centres.
Through training: By completing a complete professional certificate course , or by accumulating the different modules; upon completion, you will obtain the certificate that accredits your qualification for your job.
Are there any access requirements?
Professional certificates can be level 1, 2 or 3, depending on the level of specialization and, as they are official Grade C qualifications, to access them you must meet certain requirements. In this article dedicated to the new FP law you can see what is required depending on the level to be studied.
This is the theory, but what about in practice?
What will a Professional Certificate give you?
To answer "the question" there is nothing better than to turn to the experience of two of our former students and find out first-hand what it meant for them to obtain this official title. Here you have Tamara and Rubén.
Femxa Students Certified Professionals
Tamara has a degree in Journalism from the University of Santiago de Compostela. She completed all the training modules for the Professional Certificate in Multimedia Editorial Product Development at Adquiro Servicios Integrados, a company of the Femxa Group.
"I found out about the course through Infojobs. A one-year contract in which, in addition to a training certificate, all the knowledge acquired was put into practice with real work."
She was unemployed and the field of Multimedia Editing complemented her higher education in the area of communication. She says that since she arrived at Femxa two years ago, the experience has been very positive:
"The face-to-face training , the internships, the work group... the Professional Certificate opened the doors to a new professional opportunity that I didn't know about."
Rubén completed a higher level of Vocational Training in Renewable kuwait phone number list Energies, a field that is completely different from the Professional Certificate he also took at Adquiro Servicios Integrados, the Development of Multimedia Editorial Products. He worked for a year and a half at Femxa (6 months of training for the professional certificate and one year of training contract) and, thanks to the skills acquired on the course, he has carried out different tasks in the Editorial Production Unit department.
"As a hobby, I've always done things related to graphic design and, out of curiosity, I wanted to know what the editorial process itself was like; I like comics and I wanted to get to know that world."
He highlights that the dual training of a Professional Certificate is very complete:
"I've done a bit of everything both in my pre-training and in my internships, and I've learned a lot about the world of e-learning, which I had no idea about, mainly the technical side of what I normally work with."
