Not every event is right for your company. Choose carefully, as attending events requires preparation, time and money.

Before you choose an event, find out if the audience piques your interest. Is it a dedicated networking event or a conference where you can mingle with others before and after the talks? And, most importantly, does the event fit your goals and will it help you build the right relationships?

Prepare well
Do your research beforehand about the event and recent events in your industry. It's especially good to have interesting examples or statistics ready. If you're promoting a new product or service, prepare your elevator pitch and have concrete examples and use cases to back up your arguments. The better prepared you are, the more you'll get out of the event and it'll help you make a good impression with new contacts.

Reaching out to others
Don't wait for others to approach you. If you've done your homework japan auto whatsapp numberand know who you want to connect with, just walk up to the person, introduce yourself, and start a conversation. Show interest in the other person's company, talk about your recent projects, and offer support if possible.

Online networking on social media
After in-person events, social media platforms and online communities are the next best places to network professionally and build new business relationships (and by that, we don't mean the annoying cold calling on LinkedIn or direct messaging on Twitter).

Here's how to do it right:

Building a strong personal brand
You don't need to be on every single platform to make new contacts and identify potential customers. Instead, focus on one or two networks that your target audience likes to use. For most companies, this is LinkedIn and Twitter, but depending on the type of business you run, Facebook, Instagram or other social networks may also be suitable for networking.

Whatever the platform, you need to build a strong and consistent brand image on your profile that demonstrates your expertise and promotes your credibility. To do this, you should upload a professional headshot, write an interesting profile description, and highlight your best work in your background image.
