This week I had the opportunity to attend a presentation organised by Innobasque in which they revealed very interesting information about the consumption of online news information in Spain . Thanks to the market research carried out by the University of Navarra and the intervention of Charo Sádaba (Vice Dean of Research), today we can share with you some of the conclusions that will be very useful to you in optimising your information dissemination.

The market research we are referring to is the publication “Online News Report 2014” or as it is originally called “Digital News Report 2014” . This is a European-wide research that has analyzed the behavior of ten countries – United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Denmark, Finland, Japan and urban Brazil – with a total of 18,859 responses bosnia and herzegovina telegram datafrom people who use the Internet. Of these, 2,017 represent Spain. In addition, the segmentation of profiles based on sex, age, region, newspaper readership, educational level and income has been taken into account ; which points to a fairly representative sample to obtain conclusive and quality results.

The public that consumes information online is increasingly larger and more heterogeneous , with a growing number of ages and sources of consultation .
There is a greater variety of access devices , although the main one is still the computer rather than mobile devices.
Online information consumption formats and participation possibilities are expanding.
The penetration of digital sources reaches 82% of people who consult current information. However, the majority of this group also continues to consume information from traditional media.

Regarding consumer behavior, the following can be concluded:
When it comes to current news, people prefer to consume online information by reading it rather than by watching videos .
When you share something on social media, you don't just do it for the sake of it, but rather you tend to express your opinion and point of view on the online information that is being shared.
The willingness to pay for online information consumption is quite limited (less than 10% of the people surveyed). In this regard, it is also noted that people prefer to pay a specific fee rather than a subscription.
Television remains the main channel for obtaining current information and daily news, followed by online news media.
