ANDIn a twist of events, Telegram will not be suspended in Spain (for now) . The decision resulting from the complaint filed by Antena 3, Mediaset, Movistar Plus+ and EGEDA in which the platform was accused of hosting copyrighted content has just been rectified on the very day that the block was to take effect.
News that will undoubtedly have made the 8.5 million Spanish users of this messaging app breathe easy again.
Other countries have tried to block Telegram before: from Brazil to Indonesia
Legal crusade against Telegram
Last Friday, March 22, Judge Santiago Pedraz of the National Court ruled on the precautionary blocking of Telegram following accusations that the platform allowed content to be hosted and shared uae number data without the permission of the aforementioned platforms, thus violating copyright . Spanish operators were given a three-hour deadline to suspend the application once they received the judicial notification, which was scheduled for today, Monday 25.
However, the tables have turned again and Judge Pedraz has just suspended the precautionary measure of blocking Telegram until the relevant report from the General Commission of the National Police is obtained . This document would study the supposedly fraudulent uses of the app, as well as the effect that its suspension would have on users.
For now, we can only wait until we know the results of the report and the new directions that this issue may take. Although, if the block were to take place, here are some tricks to be able to continue using Telegram .
