Barcamps are a relatively new event format. The first one is said to have taken place in California in 2005. As you can imagine when I write about it: I am a Barcamp fan!

What is a Barcamp?
Unfortunately, the term "Barcamp" is not self-explanatory. It has nothing to do with bars or camping. Rather, Barcamps are a type of conference. But because almost everything is different from "normal" conferences, some people also call Barcamps unconferences .
Participation is often relatively inexpensive, especially compared to "normal" conferences. Participation in a one-day Barcamp sometimes costs just 60 to 90 euros. How does a Barcamp work?
