Instagram
According to statistics, 1 billion people use Instagram worldwide and cash app database there are 15 million users in Germany. According to the ARD-ZDF online study, Instagram usage has continued to increase this year. While 9% of internet users used Instagram weekly in 2017, the number rose by 6% in 2018. Men (14%) and women (17%) are represented on the platform in similar proportions.
The advantage of Instagram is clearly the high interaction rate, which allows marketers to build a large reach. According to forecasts, this social network will continue to grow and is therefore becoming increasingly important in the marketing mix. The disadvantage, however, could be that people between the ages of 14 and 29 are more likely to use Instagram.
Snapchat
150 million people use Snapchat worldwide , 6 million of whom live in Germany . This network was included for the first time in the ARD-ZDF online study in 2016 and even overtook Twitter with a weekly usage rate of 9%. Women (9%) and men (8%) are roughly evenly distributed here. There is also a tendency for younger people between the ages of 14-29 to use Snapchat weekly.
