Social pension payments will also increase. They are paid to people who cannot work and provide for themselves due to various reasons. A social pension can be assigned due to old age, disability, or loss of a breadwinner.
The type of social pension determines its size and the period for which the support measure will be assigned. To assign a social pension, you need to submit an application through the State Services portal, to the MFC or to the Social Fund department. Recalculation of an already assigned pension is done automatically, and there is no need to submit applications.
Social pensions are indexed annually from April 1; this year, their size will increase by 14.75%, according to Federal Law No. 423-FZ of November 30, 2024 “On the budget of the Pension and Social Insurance Fund of the Russian Federation for 2025 and for the planning period of 2026 and 2027.”
In 2025, the amount of the social pension will be:
for old age - 8,824.08 rubles,
for disabled people from childhood of the 1st group list of real mobile number database and disabled children - 21,177.59 rubles,
for disabled persons of group I and disabled persons from childhood of group II - 17,648.24 rubles,
disabled persons of group II (except for disabled persons from childhood) - 8,824.08 rubles,
for disabled persons of group III - 7,500.53 rubles,
for loss of breadwinner - 8,824.08 rubles,
in case of loss of both parents - 17,648.24 rubles,
for children whose both parents are unknown - 17,648.24 rubles.
Of course, the pension consists of insurance and social pensions, but those who did not work at all will not be left without funds. In addition, when assigning a social pension, the district (regional) coefficient is taken into account. This is the indicator by which the size of wages, pensions, benefits, scholarships and compensations in regions with difficult climatic conditions is increased.

Additional payments up to the subsistence minimum

Additional financial support for pensioners whose income from pensions and other social payments is less than the regional subsistence minimum for pensioners will be social supplements. It does not have a fixed figure, since this is the amount that the state pays extra so that the pension received is not lower than the subsistence minimum in the region. In 2025, the subsistence minimum in the Moscow region is 16,600 rubles, in Moscow - 17,897 rubles.
You don't need to apply anywhere to apply for a social supplement. It will be assigned automatically based on data from the Social Fund of Russia. The support measure is only available to non-working pensioners.
