In his Telegram channel, Gorelov talks in detail about what is happening, posting screenshots of correspondence, documents, statements, from which it is clear that the head of Sosnovka has declared a real war on corruption. He publicly addresses officials with "inconvenient" questions and says that he has repeatedly reported illegal schemes.

“Considering the fact that I raised the issue of corruption in our city, and also possess information affecting the interests of influential and dishonest people, both city government representatives, as well as the district and the region, have come out in force against me,” Gorelov wrote.

The mayor also announced that he is ready to defend himself and is preparing a lawsuit.

"Some of the materials have already been transferred to the bailiffs, some to the Investigative Committee. This information will be made public in measured doses," warns the head of Sosnovka.

Gorelov named a number of problems that are not being resolved by the authorities and reported that the implemented schemes have caused significant damage to the state.

As the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, told journalists , the Kremlin is not yet aware of the situation.

"Unfortunately, I am not aware of the situation. I have nothing to say here, I simply do not have the information. We will definitely inquire," Peskov answered journalists' questions.

Kirov Region Governor Alexander Sokolov responded to the situation by reporting that Gorelov was invited to a conversation with the government, but he refused.

"A legal conflict has arisen. Don't act rashly. I ask you to contact the district and resolve the issue of what alternative options there may be, in addition to what the unit commander is asking for. Everything must be done according to the law. I also ask the prosecutor's office to give a legal assessment of the events," the head of the region told the military commissar regarding attempts to return the mayor of Sosnovka to the front.

Alexander Sokolov asked the prosecutor's office and the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Kirov Region to join in studying the materials on all the revealed facts of corruption.

As for the residents of Sosnovka, they are collecting signatures in support of their head . At the moment, more than 3,200 signatures have been collected.

"We believed this man, we saw from his actions that the situation in the city before he took office was deplorable. The two previous heads of the city were brought to criminal responsibility. Nikita Vasilyevich carries out all his activities openly, telling residents in the most accessible language what problems exist and offering ways to solve them," Gorelov's fellow countrymen wrote in their appeal.
