Vector image file formats

Post by mouakter13 »

SVG , EPS, AI, and PDF are examples of vector image file types.

Unlike static raster image file formats, where each shape and color in the design is tied to a pixel, these formats are more flexible.

Vector graphics instead use a system of lines and curves on a Cartesian plane, scaled relative to the entire area, not a single pixel.

This means that the resolution of the original image can be infinitely expanded without any loss of quality or distortion.

As you can see, the difference in quality when magnified 7 times is completely incomparable.

Since SVG calculates positions based on a percentage of the total area, not pixels, there is no pixelation.

JPEG remains one of the most widely used image file types on the Internet due to its compression and virtually universal support across browsers and operating systems.

Most social media platforms (like Facebook and Instagram) automatically convert uploaded image files to JPEG. They also use unique social media image sizes to control the resolution of your photos.

Advantages and disadvantages
