Price changes on WhatsApp Business: Is Brazil exempt?

Post by Joywtome231 »

Starting in October 2024 , the WhatsApp Business API will implement an update to marketing message pricing in several global markets.

While countries like India, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates will see significant increases, Brazil will not be affected by these changes .

Brazilian companies will be able to continue using marketing messages on WhatsApp without changing costs, maintaining the same current pricing model.

Global Price Adjustments and WhatsApp Business API in Brazil
Meta announced these global changes with the aim of improving the quality of singapore company email list communications, especially when it comes to marketing messages.

The changes aim to:

Reduce bulk messaging : Encourage the reduction of sending untargeted marketing messages, which may be viewed as spam by users.
Increase interactivity in campaigns : Promote the creation of more engaging and interactive campaigns, which result in a higher reading rate and better audience engagement.
Improve user experience : Ensure that messages sent are more relevant and personalized, contributing to a more pleasant communication experience for the end user.
However, in Brazil, marketing message rates will not change. This ensures that companies can continue using this tool without additional costs.

Additionally, WhatsApp Business API also made a major change to utility messaging, reducing its costs by 77% in August.

This reduction aims to encourage companies to adopt WhatsApp as their primary channel for transactional communication, such as order confirmations and delivery updates, thus making it an even more competitive alternative to SMS.

Opportunities for Brazilian companies
With marketing costs remaining the same and utility messaging rates significantly reduced, companies can adopt strategies to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.

Businesses use helpful messages—such as order updates, delivery statuses, and account alerts—to keep customers informed and improve the after-sales experience.
