Tips for website promotion

All website visitor counters are installed according to approximately the same scheme, which consists of several stages:

Register in the required system.

Entering information about the site.

Setting up the required settings.

Installing the code received south africa email list from the service on the website after reading the instructions provided.

So, how to add a visitor counter to a website? Let's use two services as an example: Yandex.Metrica and Google Analytics.

Installing the Yandex.Metrica visitor counter on a website

Step 3. Counter settings

Check the corresponding fields of the counter, determining which Yandex.Metrica options you need. By default, the checkbox is only checked in the "asynchronous code" field. However, we recommend checking it in Webvisor as well. This will allow you to view something like video recordings of each visitor's actions on your site and understand where they clicked, what they viewed, etc.

Each time you check/uncheck a box, the code for insertion below changes. After you have checked the boxes you need, copy this code and paste it on the site. In this case, first paste the code and only then click "save", since not everything works the first time. But even after clicking "save", you can always edit the site visit counter by receiving the code again.

You can always change the counter settings in the same way in the edit mode. But remember that in this case the counter code will change again and you will have to copy it again and install it on the site.

Let's look at all the options:

"Webvisor". Records user actions: how he moved the mouse, what he clicked, what he selected. The program shows these actions in the form in which the user had them when viewing (screen format, extension). The tool is very useful. In addition, a fresh version of Webvisor with new useful options will be released soon. Check this box.

"Tracking the hash in the browser address bar" . An effective tool for those whose data is loaded in the background. That is, the user does not refresh the web page when viewing, but the content changes with each click. If at least one parameter changes, the analytics considers this address new. We recommend not to set this parameter if you are not sure whether you will need it or not. Sites on the same WordPress almost never need it.

"Asynchronous code" . With asynchronous code, the counter code and the web page are loaded separately from each other. That is, the site loads faster for the end user, which is good news. If your goal is to count all visitors without exception, even those who left the site immediately after entering it, uncheck the box. But we do not recommend doing this for two reasons. First of all, because the site loads slower in this case. In addition, visitors who immediately close your site spoil the statistics, which, of course, negatively affects its positions in Yandex. Do not inform the search engine about such visitors.

"For XML sites" . You don't need to tick this box either, unless you're absolutely sure what you need this indicator for. It would only be useful if your site returned data in a pre-prepared format and the user didn't support the noscript tag.

"In one line" . All unnecessary spaces, line breaks, etc. are removed from the counter code. This is required for those sites that have high traffic or load, when every byte is important. Let's briefly explain what this means. When a person visits your page, their browser downloads the content on the page from your site: text, images, design elements, etc. This is the amount of information with a certain weight that your server must provide to the visitor. And the more this information, the more the server is loaded, the slower the download. If the site is very visited and the number of users is in the millions, this is direct monetary losses. If you do not check this box, you will be forced to add 1089 characters to the site. If you check it, you will get 823 characters, 266 characters less.
