12 Dropbox features you probably didn't know about

Post by zakiyatasnim »

Dropbox was launched in 2008, and since then it has added a lot of useful features. As a rule, many people use the service in the background, so some tools may have gone unnoticed. We tell you about the 12 most interesting features that can simplify your work with cloud storage.

1. Restore previous versions of files
Dropbox lets you restore previous versions of individual files, and with Dropbox Rewind, a feature available only to subscribers, you can restore multiple files, folders, or even your entire Dropbox at once. This is very useful in cases where many documents have been corrupted.

To do this, log in, select "All Files," then click the three dots at the top (to restore your entire Dropbox) or the three dots next to any folder. Then select "Version History" and restore the file you want.

2. Convert files
Dropbox recently added some useful file conversion tools, which are available on the web version of the service.

Click the three dots next to any file and select “Save As…”. You’ll then be presented with options for the format in which you can save the file. Dropbox lets you convert many popular file types (including Word documents, RTF, and GIF files) to PDF, JPEG, or PNG, depending on the type of file you’re working with. The original file is not changed and remains accessible in its original format.

3. Use Dropbox with Microsoft Office
Windows users can work with Dropbox in conjunction with Microsoft greece number data Office. To do this, open the Dropbox client from the notification bar, click on your profile picture, then "Settings" and in the "General" section, check the box "Show Dropbox as a folder for saving in Microsoft Office." This feature allows you to quickly transfer Word, Excel and PowerPoint files directly to the cloud storage folders.

4. Download the desktop app
On Windows and macOS, users can manage files using a web service or directly in the file manager on their computer (Explorer or Finder). But there is a third option - the Dropbox desktop application. This is a good solution for those who spend most of their work time in Dropbox.

5. Set a password for confidential files
Dropbox allows you to create a special safe folder, which is protected by an additional PIN code. Third-party plugins also do not have access to it. To do this, you need to log in to your account in the web version of Dropbox, then click on your profile picture (top right), then "Settings" and in the "General" section next to the "Safe" item, select "Install".

6. Maintain a Dropbox root folder
