4. Redirect
Global redirection
Magento does implement global redirects on your website. This means that if your store uses a "" subdomain or "s", Magento will still redirect the user to the correct destination URL if the user does not enter these attributes. This is very useful for improving the user experience of your website, because in this case, even if the user does not enter the exact destination URL, they should land on the right content.
Back in 2016, a famous study by Wayfair showed that 302 redirects ghana mobile database can significantly dilute link equity. While Google claims that 302 redirects simply pass on equity, this argument remains an endlessly debated point in SEO. While we believe that 302 redirects do dilute equity more than before, our position is that you should never have to use 302 redirects unless you absolutely need to.
For this reason, we recommend adjusting this on the Magento platform. Fortunately, it’s a very simple change:
Navigate to Store > Configuration
In the General drop-down menu, select Web
Select the "Url Options" drop-down menu
Change "Automatically redirect to base URL" to "Yes 301 Moved Permanently"
This should ensure that your Magento site's global redirects now use 301 status codes instead of 302 status codes.
