A gripping conflict comes to a head over the course of a story. This creates tension that can be built up until the reader is almost bursting. This is a great way to play around. But it is also important not to overdo the tension . Your hero tries with all his might to achieve his goal, but setbacks bother him. Sometimes it seems as if he is getting further away from his goal the harder he runs into the obstacles.
