Runa Capital Fund II’s first investment was SchoolMint, a leading provider of mobile and online registration systems for schools in the United States. The startup raised $2.2 million in 2014 and an additional $5.6 million in 2016. Since its founding in 2013, SchoolMint has demonstrated impressive momentum, attracting more than 2,000 schools in the United States and abroad.


Also in 2014, Runa Capital successfully sold its stake in Capptain. Runa Capital completed the formation of its third fund in May 2020. The company was able to attract $157 million in investments. That’s $22 million more than the fund initially planned — investors trusted the fund’s expertise and strategy.

The third fund was aimed at startups that specialized in advanced "deep" technologies. In addition to previous locations, Europe and the US, Africa was added. The venture company's interest in the DeepTech segment appeared long before it became mainstream in the venture capital industry.

The company developed an API solution that allowed organizations to issue debit cards to their customers without involving a bank.
