3. Add your own music to your content
Imagine. A vlogger has independently edited a video with music from her favorite band and she wants to post it on YouTube. Permission for the music of the band must have been obtained by the vlogger or the platform. If this is not the case and the vlogger uploads the video with illegal music, she is liable for it herself. By uploading, the vlogger is the one who made the music available. The platform is then, in many cases, seen as an intermediary.
Many artists have placed their copyrights in a CBO. In order to be allowed to use the music, you often c level executive list end up at Buma/Stemra for permission to obtain a license from them. For this you can often apply for a license via the website of the CBO. In some cases it is also an option to ask the record label of the artist for a license. In that case you can sometimes use music from all affiliated artists.
