The media can influence people's cognitive biases. It can present information in a way that confirms people's biases and ignores information that contradicts them. Therefore, it is important to be critical of the media and seek information from different sources.

The media is an important part of our lives. It informs us about what is happening in the world but, at the same time, it can influence our thoughts, our emotions and the way we perceive reality, especially when it comes to sensitive topics such as politics or social issues.

Cognitive biases are patterns of thinking that lead us to make decisions or judge people inappropriately because of beliefs and prejudices that are embedded in our psyche. The media can influence these cognitive biases in several ways.

The first is the selection effect. The media often chooses what to cover and how to cover it, showing only some parts of reality and ignoring others. This creates a distorted image of reality, leading to an inadequate vision and wrong beliefs. For example, if the media only reports negative stories about a specific ethnic group, it could influence people's perception of that community.
