On Tuesday, October 26th, Mynavi Creator will be holding an online seminar, Web Industry Evolution Practical Course #11, entitled "What are the 'reading and comprehension skills' and 'communication skills' necessary for web designers who are constantly in demand?"
The 11th installment of the "Web Industry Evolution Practical Course" is aimed at web designers who are thinking about their future career development. Yumi Yamagishi, who has been in her current job since graduating and has built up a career as a designer, art director, and project leader, will be the guest to talk about the career development of web designers and the communication required.
In this interview just before the event, we spoke with Yamagishi about his journey from joining the company to the present, and what will essentially be required of web designers in the future.

"How to combine ideas" learned through working on a wide variety of projects
-- I understand that you joined your current company as a new graduate industry email list and have been there for nine years now. First of all, could you tell us how you came to join the company?
Yamagishi: I studied visual design, such as posters and pamphlets, at university, so I applied to be a graphic designer when I was looking for a job. I didn't have any particular preference for the medium, such as magazines or the web, but I was just looking for a company where I could do design work. Then, during my job search, a person in charge at a company who I had interviewed for told me, "You should look at the company's vision." He said, "The content of the work may change, but the management philosophy will not change."
